Please read before posting
[edit]- Post all new sections under a new header at the bottom of this page, not at random. If you make it clear you ignored these instructions by placing it elsewhere, I am likely to ignore your request in turn.
- If you leave me a message here, I will respond to it here, as fragmented discussions are confusing. I may or may not leave you a notice that I've responded on your talk page. If you specifically request that I do (or do not) give you such a notice when I respond, I'll honor that request. If I contact you on your talk page, I will watchlist it so that I can respond there. If you'd like to leave me a notice when you respond (a ping will also suffice), it would be appreciated, and you'll probably receive a faster followup.
- No lulztxtspk or emojis on my talk page, please. "You" is spelled "you", "though" is spelled "though", "because" is spelled "because", "people" is spelled "people", and so on. There is no character limit on Wikipedia comments, so there is no need whatsoever for ad-hoc abbreviating. If you don't even take yourself seriously, don't expect me to take you seriously either.
- If you are an admin here to ask me about someone I blocked for vandalism or spamming/advertising, they've agreed to stop it, and you believe they intend to edit productively, go ahead and unblock them. If you still want my opinion please feel free to ask, but there's no obligation. For more complex cases I would appreciate a heads-up, but please go ahead with your best judgment if I don't seem to be online. I would appreciate it if you'd let me know after you do.
- If you are here to discuss edits made to an article, please use the article talk page, not this talk page, to discuss them. If I made the edit and the question is specifically directed at me, you are welcome to ping me.
- If you email me a question or request, and do not indicate why the matter is sensitive and must be handled privately (and such is not immediately obvious), I may ignore it or respond on your talk page rather than by return email. Talk pages are open to other editors to read, and so are the preferred method of communication for matters involving Wikipedia. If the matter you are speaking to me about is Wikipedia-related and would not violate anyone's privacy by being posted publicly, please use my talk page instead of email. This does not, of course, apply to editors who are blocked from editing, though I still may respond on your talk page rather than by return email.
Carl Azuz
[edit]Good morning, thank you for reviewing the page I created on Draft:Carl Azuz. It is my opinion that by nature, journalists are going to have less secondary sources written about them. If you browse other journalists' wiki pages, you will notice that articles about those notable people are few and far between. There are exceptions, certainly people like Don Lemon have had a lot written about them, but for your average journalist there isn't a lot out there. That being said, I'm committed to getting this page published, so I was hoping with finding another source or two we could get there. Since my original draft, I did notice another article that was published in The Teen Magazine, linked here: https://www.theteenmagazine.com/behind-the-world-from-a-z-how-carl-azuz-inspires-the-next-generation Do you think this article would help establish the notability of the subject? Thank you in advance. Pveclaire (talk) 15:53, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
- Pveclaire, that's not going to really help. The site ([1]) states that it's written "by teens, for teens", so questionable at best for WP:RS, and mostly an interview, which is also not independent. Sometimes a subject looks promising, but the sourcing just isn't there. When that occurs, it's time to move on to something else. It's happened to me too. Seraphimblade Talk to me 16:49, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
- Got it. I added in some more material to try to establish notability. I feel like getting secondary media coverage as a journalist while working for one of the major media companies (CNN) is uncommon. It isn't like Fox News, for example, is going to run a profile about CNN's student current event show. His job is not to make news, but rather report it to students. Also considering that his work is directed at middle and high school students, it makes sense that sites like Teen Magazine would give him coverage. I would argue that Azuz's role at CNN as the student news anchor/face of the program would make him notable. Certainly he is as notable as other CNN contributors that have pages (many with fewer references). I will continue to try to enhance the page with more sources, but outside a feature on a mainstream media outlet like NPR, the NY Times, or another outlet, I'm not sure what I'll be able to find. He is a frequent guest on education podcasts and blogs, but those wouldn't qualify as a quality source. Pveclaire (talk) 21:45, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
- I was able to add some more sources and information to the page. I think it rounds out the article much better and establishes the notability of Mr. Azuz. Pveclaire (talk) 21:33, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Arbitration enforcement (continued)
[edit]Hello, this is Mk8mlyb. I am currently having a conflict with Orange2001 ABC over the Los Angeles Angels article. Is there a place I can settle this conflict? Mk8mlyb (talk) 04:23, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
- It doesn't appear that the two of you have yet discussed the matter at Talk:Los Angeles Angels. That would generally be the first step. Seraphimblade Talk to me 10:37, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
- I recently was doing some digging into Wikipedia's guidelines and I came across a page on the administrators' noticeboard with a section in which a user requested to be unbanned. This gave me a question: is it possible to appeal a ban from Wikipedia? If so, how can it be done? Also, LOL at this page. And this page. Mk8mlyb (talk) 05:01, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- The procedure for appealing a contentious topic sanction is described here. And yes, people have written some pretty witty stuff over the years. Seraphimblade Talk to me 13:05, 23 February 2025 (UTC)

Hello there would you like to help me in creating a article on Zebronics
[edit]I am new to creating articles in Wikipedia so it would be great if you could help in creating this article.if you agree please reply on my talkpage Drinfio (talk) 08:28, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- by help i mean granting access to me for editing the article
- Because now it is set to administer only mode i think and the name specified there was yours.
- It would be great if you could help Drinfio (talk) 08:33, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- Drinfio, I reply on my own talk page to avoid fragmenting conversations. You will have to specify what page you are talking about, as I have absolutely no idea what you mean. Seraphimblade Talk to me 13:04, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, I see now, you're talking about Zebronics. I will not unprotect the mainspace title, as it was subject to a tremendous amount of spamming and paid editing. However, you may work on the draft, at Draft:Zebronics, and request review via articles for creation. If AfC accepts the draft, I will be happy to unsalt the title at that time, but I will not unprotect for direct mainspace creation. Seraphimblade Talk to me 13:14, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- Okay i will try to get the aprroval. I appreciate your support Drinfio (talk) 13:38, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
Worth SPI?
[edit]From the use of the image by ATLFAVORITE (talk · contribs) I was at least mildly suspicious that they could be a sock of Reignsound (talk · contribs) but I didn't know if it would be worth opening an SPI. TornadoLGS (talk) 02:53, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- TornadoLGS, given the same spamming on "Grillz by Scotty", ATLFAVORITE's clear knowledge incoming of what was going on with it, and the like, I think it's well worth an SPI. As both of them extensively use AI to generate what they write, it's hard to identify any similarity in writing style or the like, since that could just be from use of the same bot, but I think the other factors make it at least very likely this is block evasion.
